Did you just moon me?

This is my 1st time in forum, and owning a saber.  Soory in advance for ignorence; I have ordered a US Satandard Issue white balde.  I was just wondering how had it will be to change the white led that comes with that to The LXHL-LE5C Cyan LuxeonŽ V Star is part of the world's brightest LEDs with power and superb lumen maintenance that far exceeds other standard and high-flux LEDs.-I pasted that from the luxeon web site as not to miss any details.  I am not skilled in doing the conversion, just was wondering the difficulty level, or if it had been done before.  I watched a youtube vid once of a saber owner changing the LED like 3 times.  Each was a different color, that looked pretty cool, so I was wondering if it could be done with the US standard issue.
Thanks for your time and help

I have a fire orange Dominix and I have been looking for information on changing the lux3 LED to another lux3 of a different color. I realize this would void the warranty and I'm ok with that. I've read the ultra knowledge vault and didn't find anything but the I did read through some tutorials on another forum and it seems pretty simple.  The Dominix has a very deep emitter and this saber is probably not meant to be disassembled but if I can change out the LED without sending it to a smith I would still like to give it a shot.

The domonix is easy enough.

Pull the button off, ...it is usually press fitted.

Snip the wires off of it, (I blieve they wire the negative in line)

Peer into the hole, snip the "other" wire, ...should be red.

The battery pack will fall out, this should also allow the LED module slide out the emitter, ....change your LED, ...u may need to repalce the entire optics solution if the hot glue is smeared all over the place.

Make a few new leads and connect it all back.
Optionally, ..this would be a good time to convert it to a buckpuck set up.

Not sure about the Buck Puck but maybe one of Ultras adjustable Driver Boards.

I like some of the pommel switches I have seen on the forums but I would like to try something a little different. Since the switch is coming out anyway this would be a great time to experiment with some things.

A couple of quick questions...

Any chance of damaging the button when I pull it off?

Do I get a Ryyk Blade to the face if I call you Chewie?

OK, in this thread - http://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/index.php?topic=23072.msg340344#msg340344

There is a pic of a RGB P5 putting out purple.  It's absolutely beautiful.  Is there any chance of this P5 in purple becoming an option for Ultrasabers-not necessarily MR/Hasbro conversions, but just regular Ultrasabers.  I'd gladly pay $25+ for Purple as a color choice, or is Custom sabers the only real option here?

Probably not.  The purple blade shown in that topic is achieved using a P5 RGB led wired by Jango himself,  and is not an option at Ultrasabers at this time.

Man, that's too bad, as I know there's a market for a good purple you could duel with.  I'd love an Opressor with a purple blade,

These aren't Oppressors,  but they do come in Oppression Stopping Purple:

Thank you for the Link, looks like Vadersabers will be getting some of my money coming up.  Thing is, is that I have several
Ultrasabers, and I'd rather give them my money, as I am totally happy with their products.  What exactly is the problem in doing a purple blade now with the RGB Leds?
If it's time/labor, like I said, I'd gladly pay extra for purple as an option.  Just curious as the economy is starting an upswing, and
now would be the time to jump in.

I'll probably be buying an Ultrasaber lightsaber soon-ish and I've been wondering a few things about the orange.

I did some searching and is it true that the "Fire Orange" leans on the yellow side? How much so? (Is it just the way the pictures come out, or does it really have a more yellow-y look in person?)

And is it possible to order a saber with the bin 6 instead of bin 4?

Would the orange look okay with a heavy grade blade? (Most of the ones I saw with pictures/video didn't specify the blade type.)

Sorry for so many questions, and thanks in advance.

It is true that "Fire Orange" does lean sort of to the yellow as it is an amber LED.  You'd have to PM alex@ultrasabers.com to see if he has a bin 6.  They weren't that common and aren't being made anymore.

Heavy grade blades reduce brightness somewhat, no matter what color you go with.  Keep in mind amber is one of the dimmest colors so you may want to stick with a mid grade, but it depends on how heavy your dueling will be Cheesy.

Ah, okay, I'll do that.

Yeah. So, is it REALLY dim, or just so-so with the heavy blade? (I really want that heavy blade, and as much as Roan Shryne's quote gives me hope, I'd rather have orange than red. ^^;)

Thanks for the response.

Again, the amber is the dimmest color (except Royal blue which they don't offer).  So, combine that with a thickwalled blade that reduces the brightness even more and I don't think you'll be happy.  The good news is you can always buy another blade if you aren't happy with it.
