Well that's the thing. My children make the sounds for themselves, even IF the saber they are playing with has it. The key is imagination, something that seems to be lacking in the recent generations.
The Answer is outright in this regard though, sure you could put sound in an initiate. But by the time you do, you have nearly spent as much as you would for a decent Stock Force FX. Let alone what one would spend on a custom sinktube saber which is much nicer.
This is not going to say that the initiates are bad, but it seems as though people tend to be overlooking the entire point of the initiates to begin with. The original idea is to have a kid's saber that is VERY durable, and will last a LONG time, be less expensive in upkeep (Face it, they don't eat batteries as fast as sabers with sound.) and keeps the kids away from your $200-$400 sabers.
Another thing that lends to my views on this, is that the more electronics you stuff into a hilt, the more chances there are of breakage. Lending itself to more expensive repairs should something get broken while roughhousing.
Please take into consideration that I mean no offense with any of my comments here. However my outlook is: If you want a saber with sound, then why do it in something made of PVC, when there are other more worthwhile sabers that a sound card could go into? Now I am not saying that I don't have a couple of PVC sabers with sound already (I do), but that was because of all the questions everyone asks about this very subject.

I wanted to see for myself if it coud be done, and it can, but not without it's downfalls.
Yes it is possible to put sound n the initiate styled sabers, worth the work? Your mileage may vary on that one. In my opinion: No it's not worth the effort when there are better uses for a sound card.
Although, HASBRO toy saber sound cards are plentiful enough, and WILL fit nicely.
