Corbin's Lux3 Driver Question
« on: January 22, 2008, 03:08:46 AM »
Any way to have Corbin's Lux driver have the shimmer/clash effect on all the time (kinda like Erv's)? Or will it just eat up the batteries or burn up the board? Hate to waste such fine engineering on a testing mistake.....hehehe

Well it does but its to quick to notice. its basicly set to a point to help conserve battery life.

Ah. So the board shimmers in normal mode AND when you trigger the clash button?

When it clashes it shimmers but in normal sitting there doing nothing the shimmer is to fast to see but every now and then when sitting there stairing at it you will notice a very slight flicker.

np

Iam actually currently selling my corbin driver and mr soundcard, I need to upgrade.

But its an awsome setup regardless, Persionally iam not much for the blade flicker when its just on, the clash flicker is decent but I dont like the idel flicker.

upgrade to what though?  :(

wait... is there soem buttered toast in your future? you find a used plecter board?
we need new sound boards so badly! erv and ultra, they are working thier butts off... and we are waiting! foaming at the mouth!!!

and you say you are running a corbin board wtih MR sound? n00b question, but why wouldnt you just use the MR to run the LED? the corbin actually improves efficiency? makes the LED run brighter?
sorry i just need help understanding why you would run both boards simultaneously.
thanks!

the corbin board will actually give you a sort ramp up down effect that the mr won't, and will give a little more to the led. Also gives you blade flicker when hit.

Yep, this was actually the best setup to have before ervs and ultras boards came about.

is there a thread for any sabers built using this method?
can you stick them in a saber back-to-back, or do you need a mega-long hilt to slide them in one after another?
would it be safe to run a K2 without frying anything?

thanks guys i'm really trying to figure out the electronics for my soon to start MHS project.  ;)

Do Clo has made a couple sabers using this method. You can stack the MR and Corbin boards in the hilt. A K2 will work fine.

okay now im SERIOUSLY tempted to hack the guts out of my joe jedi...  :o
MHS with corbin board, FX sound, (both to hold me over until "something better" comes out) and a K2 white with yellow lee filter...
mmmm...

maybe i should order a spare joe. yeah.

thanks for all your input guys!
that corbin board really does seem quite versatile!
