Wow you guys really like to jump the gun, don't you?  Already you're looking forward to new sound and new sabers?

HASBRO IS GOING TO RELEASE THE EXACT SAME FX SABERS WE HAVE NOW, the only difference will be Hasbro branding.

On top of that, as I said in another thread, I highly doubt they will even release ALL the current sabers - my guess is they will release Luke and Darth Vader because those are the most mainstream and guaranteed to sell.  MAYBE we'll see Yoda/Maul/Obi Wan.  Maybe.

And MAYBE they'll be on the shelves by next Xmas.

And THEN they said they'll "look at" changes to the line.  This means they either have no plans to spend a dime changing anything and just don't want to say that and piss people off, or if the sabers sell incredibly well and they think they can milk more money out of us with minor changes or new sabers, then and only then will we see anything new.

And I'd guess it will be close to two years before that happens.

I know this is very pessimistic, but this is simply the way corporate mentality thinks.

At least we'll still get Force FX sabers in some form!

Wow, that is very pessimistic. Who did you say was jumping the gun? Have some faith! You seem to have them doomed before we see the first product and just before that you say were jumping the gun by being hopeful?!?!?

LOL, well said Owen!

I guess Mojo is "jumping the gun" himself by being so pessimistic. Besides, I agree that its his right to be pessimist but don't be telling the rest of us off.

Since Hasbro is just taking the reigns on this product, it is going to be a while before they make any major changes or put out anything new.
They need R&D time, which can be several months or even a year.

Bryan was the "father" of the FX saber.  His design.  So unless he is contracted out to continue the same work or expand on it, we may be waiting for some time.

May The Force FX Be With You!

I think people already beginning to wonder what the "new" sabers Hasbro is releasing will sound like is jumping the gun, especially when they are talking about the FIRST round, which they have already said will be EXACTLY the same as existing Force FX.

One person speculated if there will ever be new sound, and 3 messages later people are talking about the new sounds in the sabers.

I was just injecting a dose of reality, not pessimism.

I think we are all hoping that this go around for our beloved sabers will be the best. I certainly hope Hasbro does right by us. Lord knows we have asked and asked in the past. With the announcement comes high hopes and fears at the same time. We are sad to an extent that MR lost the license, we are happy that someone will be making sabers for us, some are skeptical about what we may see, we all want to know, right now, what the future holds. The hard part is waiting. During this dark hour of waiting, to see what we have when the sun does rise, will be the hardest time. A time filled with hope, skepticism, and wishful thinking. Hopefully in the near and distant future we will all have what we want to see in our FX sabers! ;D

That would be nice wouldn't it? I could go for that upgrade as well. We just have to keep our fingers crossed. I hope we start seeing some "sneak peeks" soon.
