You're right after my own heart with Old Republic style sabers- My favorite era for sabers. Nice work here! I dig the sleek simplicity of this one.

I was thinking if doing the combo like Madcow has done

Some people have said that the Covertec gets in their way when dueling and gripping the saber. I have honestly never had a problem with them.

They definitely can get in the way if you don't plan out and put them on the proper side for your second hand. It usually isn't a terrible issue, but can be uncomfortable. Still I like the look and feel of them over the d rings. The Madcow combo is pretty cool though!

Fwiw I remember seeing a covertec d ring combo clip somewhere so you could use either or depending on your needs. I'll try to find the link when I have time.
