Title: REGAL JEDI by Hon_Rev
Post by: Hon_Rev on August 10, 2009, 08:38:00 AM
Greetings!
I decided after some advice from the Mods that the best way to offer these to the forum members is by doing by personal order rather than making a number of the same ones and getting a list. This way the order can be more personalized and one of a kind. I plan on a turn around of one week depending on materials, some stones are hard to find. Right now I am offering a few different models of BlingStrips themes that can be customized by the customer! Your choice of stones and metals, as well as Aurebesh writing and computer strip style piercing, texture and weathering or oxidation. Here is the original thread with all the current pictures of the ones I have done so far.

http://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/index.php?topic=18477.0

Prices will start around $50 dollars for the standard brass pierced BlingStrip and will go up from there depending on amount of customization.
(https://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi683.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv194%2FHon_Rev%2FSaber%2520BLING%2FDSC04219.jpg&hash=cbeb015fd0bbecffc169ac8b2366f0eccbf03ac6)

A BlingStrip like the Rebel Alliance or the Jedi/Sith models would start around $75 and go up depending on stones used and amount of customization.
(https://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi683.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv194%2FHon_Rev%2FSaber%2520BLING%2FDSC04134.jpg&hash=f0bfa5520457f1ea256b95b6cda90aae44d5d993)(https://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi683.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv194%2FHon_Rev%2FSaber%2520BLING%2FDSC04337.jpg&hash=76474e5cdd58e084a3a332f57a98709c77f19dc7)(https://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi683.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv194%2FHon_Rev%2FSaber%2520BLING%2FDSC04144.jpg&hash=542e0f71deb204271485b883bac0227bf0777e52)(https://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi683.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv194%2FHon_Rev%2FSaber%2520BLING%2FDSC04634.jpg&hash=dcfcba5f0992d1d747adca55c0fac2fbc06390bb)

Here is an example of the oxidation before I polish it off the top! The silver turns blue and purple and all kinds of weird colors but turns black in the cracks and grooves!

I really like the idea of everyone having one of a kind BlingStrips and not just a 1 of 15 run! The top of the strip measures 8mmX50mm so feel free to create a design and email me the sketch! You can place your request here and we can figure out the details in PM.

New website can be found at http://www.imperialroyalarms.com/ under Regal Jedi
So lets bling out some graflex hilts and get creative! Oh and let me know any other ideas you have that I could bling out on a saber. I plan on making some emitter plugs, kill keys, and buttons but ideas are always welcome! Here is the link to my photobucket page with everything I have so far http://s683.photobucket.com/albums/vv194/Hon_Rev/Saber%20BLING/

I would like one in brass with a steam punkish design (gears?). There needs to be a light pass through window right below the clamp shaft.

Finished Jango Fett's Steampunk BlingStrip
(https://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi683.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv194%2FHon_Rev%2FSaber%2520BLING%2FDSC04645.jpg&hash=ba394cd6b221cd0b68834b4d68fc7cde0005b37f)
And with light...

The gear is slightly hanging off the edge so you can spin it easier with your finger. I like things that move! Hope you like it Jango!

Here is the thread of his Brassflex with updated pictures and video of the saber with the BlingStrip.

Your a real Blingstrip wizard.
This fits very good to Jango's saber.
Did he designed it himself, or was this your idea?
You need a good imagination for those designs.

I'll bet you could desing very beautyfull sabers also.

Thanks for the complements! Jango asked for a steampunk theme and I came up with a few designs for him to choose.

In time Darth Matth I foresee a not just a BlingStrip but a BlingSaber too! ;)

Jedi Yar Nala's BlingStrip!
(https://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi683.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv194%2FHon_Rev%2FSaber%2520BLING%2FDSC04689.jpg&hash=6613bd880a0216acfe7714b29606e7aaf1317ba2)(https://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi683.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv194%2FHon_Rev%2FSaber%2520BLING%2FDSC04684.jpg&hash=6c2db955cfa9dd2e96930c1ec7e0f3dca9450e76)

I used a Sunstone because it had the closest color to the request from JYN. I like it because it is a phenomenal stone like a cats eye that reflects light when the led is not on but is still transparent to allow light from the in hilt led. The color matches AmpTroopers  Steampunk saber perfectly!
(https://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi683.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv194%2FHon_Rev%2FSaber%2520BLING%2FDSC04683.jpg&hash=075fc752a8509f897982b3a152bacbe93196d7ee)

And one picture of it lit up!
(https://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi683.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv194%2FHon_Rev%2FSaber%2520BLING%2FDSC04686.jpg&hash=6653a1d56577cd79080abbb37e3c44a0db4112d2)

I hope you like it JYN, it was a challenge to fit six letters but I think it turned out good and cant wait to see it paired up with its saber!.

Your the bling strip king, I keep saying that.
What I want to know is, does the letters have any meaning?
Is it ordered specific, or do you make it like random?
Like the last one for example; Do I take the the number of each first letter out of my name or something, or is it just for fun?
Jango has a complete differend blingstrip though.

Hey Darth Matth thanks for all the positive words! The BlingStrip letters are in Aurebesh which is one of the more commonly alphabets in the galaxy. Jedi Yar Nala's spells out the his families last name. I have done the Sith and Jedi versions but can spell out anything as long as it fits. A BlingStrip that spelled out MATTH would look pretty cool! Jango's does not spell anything, its styled in a similar fashion to Anakins but in a steampunk theme.

Anything goes when it comes to the BlingStrip! ;)

Great work Hon Rev. I have to ask, can you apply your skills to fit other activation boxes? I know the ones from TCSS are close to a graflex, but what about the Parks versions? specifically I have this one
(https://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi366.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Foo105%2Fari-jaq_xulden%2Factivation.jpg&hash=1fa30981cdc0224e3dc94011ad12ba5e76bee137)

I have a digital caliper. If I give you the measurements can you make one to fit it? The strip sits lower, so it would have be slightly thicker. It is also more slightly narrow, I had to sand down a plastic one from TFX studios. I would also be interested to know if you could make them with a sort of 90 degree angle downward tail that could hide the glow of the light coming out of the sides. So that the leds only shine through the strip itself.

Hey ari! Yes I can make strips that can fit other clamps. I can also add a section on both sides to hide the light. You can give me the measurements but to add those "tails" I would want you to ship me the clamp so I could make sure if fits perfect.

Maybe if you cant send me a clamp I can purchase from someone on the forum or at the store to make it perfect. PM me with your ideas and we can get it made and thank you for your interest!

You are amazing Hon Rev!

UPDATE UPDATE!!!!!

BlingStrips now fit all clamps! Graflex, MHS, ect! I ordered a aluminum strip from TCSS and its exactly the same as mine as far as size goes. Any clamp that will hold the aluminum strip or a regular bubble strip and computer strip will hold a BlingStrip!

would it be possibly, to get a sith strip with just the aurebesh and not the stone? just a thought

That would be no problem Darth B. Just PM me when you are ready! Thank you!

All projects are on hold for the moment. My computer crashed this morning along with all my designs and images. I will be spending the rest of today trying to get back up and running as soon as possible.

All paid projects have shipped. If you are a client that still needs to put down a deposit, I would be very grateful since I now have this new problem to fix!

All orders are still going as planned, just a lil hiccup! Thank you all!

Greetings everyone!! ;D

Ive been away A LOT this year and the end of last year and wanted to update everyone of my situation.

I had some major computer problems starting in November and ending, well just now. I still dont have itunes up but can at least get work going again.

At the first of the year my puppy and myself were attacked by a pit bull resulting in the puppy being ok but my finger getting pretty beat up.  :'( So after that its been doctor visits, tetanus shots, x-rays, and now a small claims court case Im filing today.  ::)

I also was offered several out of town job possibilities. One is in Austin Texas and the other was in Steamboat Springs Colorado. The Austin job might happen in a few months but the Steamboat one fell through.

In February I celebrated my birthday at the biggest gem show in the country in Tuscon Arizona! I found a lot of really cool stones including some meteorites that Im going to make into intergalactic jewelry! One piece is called Esquel Pallasite Meteorite... 8) google it! Its meteorite with Peridot that formed as it was falling to Earth...intergalactic gemstone!!! Im way too make this line and will share the pics when I get them done.

Now, about the bling...

I have a few customers that Im doing projects for right now and must admit these good and bad life situations have gotten me VERY backed up! Im very thankful for the few of you that have been patient beyond the beyond!  :-*

I have never required a deposit from my customers but now that Im not in a situation that I can afford the build costs upfront Im asking for a 50% deposit before I start the project.
Im really liking Jango's rule of adding a nuisance fee to the order if Im contacted/bugged too much about a project but am not sure about that one yet.

There are some great projects on the bench that Im excited to share with you all and glad to have my computer back up and running so I can join in more! Been really missing my FX world and friends! Thanks for all the support and love I feel from this family, really looking forward to catching up.
Rev
