What sad news.  He was an icon and from everything I've heard, an incredible person.  Live long and prosper Mr. Nimoy.  You will be greatly missed.

I recently celebrated my 43rd birthday.  It's kind of surreal to think that when I was born Mr. Nimoy was approximately my age now.  Some of my earliest memories are of watching Star Trek on the couch with my Mom late (for me at the time) at night while my Dad was away at work.

Star Trek has been a big influence on my life in one way or another.  Just as much as Star Wars has.  I'm glad that we all had the benefit of experiencing such a talented actor that could make us believe so much in a character.

Sad news indeed.  I only hope that he finds himself in a better place.
