Clone wars and Rebels in the movie timeline
« on: December 18, 2014, 04:43:26 PM »
So Im laying in bed and this thought just popped into my head!

If we watch the movies in order of IV V VI I II III

Where do the Clone Wars and Rebels series fit? If we are showing Star Wars to someone for the first time do you show them after or fit them in between the films? Just thought I'd spark a discussion.

Also where would you alot the new films when they're released?

I think it would go I, II, Clone Wars, III, Rebels, IV, V, VI

Don't forget the Holiday Special between IV and V... it is almost Wookie Life day, after all!

I would never show it in that order to someone who truly didn't know anything at all about SW since it would ruin what is probably the greatest 'surprise' in the history of motion pictures in ESB.

Though for anyone other than a small child or who has been in cryogenic suspension or Outer Mongolia for the last 40 years that has probably been Spoilered by now. [I feel sorry for kids today who didn't get to experience the Big Secret Revealed in theatres...it was genuinely SHOCKING in those days when there was no online for spoilering movies and studios could actually keep secrets from audiences until they actually saw the film...everyone in the theatre really DIDNT KNOW and it hit us like a BOMB it was just AWESOME lol]

For anyone 'unSpoilered' or small kids I'd show it in order of I, II, Clone Wars, Rebels, IV, V, III, VI imo.

Not if you ask George, it didn't. Lets just say for all that was wrong with the prequels, the 'holiday' turd ran in spades. Look for it on Youtube...

why V, III, VI?

Because if you watch III after V then III doesn't spoil the big surprise in V but watching III before VI does give more context and pathos to Luke and Vader's characterization arcs in the finale and extra resonance to Palpatines attempt to seduce Luke to the Dark Side as he had Anakin in III.

Oh and...

*in Palpatine voice*

...the Holiday Special is a pathway to many 'disturbances in the Force' which some might consider to be... ...unnatural [esp a certain scene with Chewie's grandpa watching...well, for those who've seen it...'nuff said?].

Not much wonder Gl tried every way he could to destroy every copy he could find.. [but alas with the advent of the Internet it...just...refuses...to...die... LOL]
