Is it safe to use FoC led with main blade led
« on: December 18, 2014, 01:10:36 PM »
I cannot find an answer to this question.

If I have a CF6 saber and no CeX board installed, with an led GGR, where GG is the main blade color (led1) and the R is for FoC (fled2); in the config.txt file can I add a mA value to led2 to "mix" the GG with the R? Also can I add mA values to fled1 to add green to the red FoC?

Is this safe? How is this different than using a CeX board for color mixing?

Thanks

Look up Pseudo color mixing in the manual

The saber in question,  the FOC die (led2) uses the on board PEX on the CF. Is there a mA limit that I should keep the leds  at?

withouth the CEx, those ch2 values won't translate directly in mA but in a ratio to the max current limited by the external resistor.
1500 is the max.
Let's say the resistor limits you to 1A on that die.
put 750 and you'll get around 500 mA.

Thanks Erv. Sounds like I need to know what external resistor was used on the FoC die, to determine the ratio that will be applied to the mA setting value I choose, to know the approximate applied mA.

Will I also need to know the resistor used on channel 1, to pseudo mix the two green dice (fled1) with the FoC (fled2) red die to make yellow FoC?
