NBv2.0 Problem
« on: November 22, 2014, 06:16:28 AM »
I just wired up one of my new NBv2.0 that I got.

I've used my wiring diagram that has already had the thumbs up from Erv'. Also I've wired up so many of these and had no issues in the past.

However this time I have a problem.

I am using a LEDengin RGBA mixed RB for purple and green for FOC but when I pull the kill key out, only a red die comes on and no sound or anything. Just the red die comes on.

Any reason why this could be?

Any help would be great!

Thanks

Khal

The LED - is definitely on the right pad. I used my diagram that I made which I always refer to for the other NBv2.0 builds I have done.

Anything else it could be at all Erv'?

You have a short somewhere.  Sometimes they are hard to find or see.  Just a loose strand someplace can ruin your day.  Very very occasionally, there could be a short in the LED itself.

Use a multimeter to test the led also. Or to find the short

So, I de-soldered the wires to the board. Re-soldered them to another NBv2.0 I had and it worked perfectly.  ???

So it seems I have a short somewhere on the board either between 2 pads or a flick of solder has gone somewhere?

Luckily I have copper braid to remove the solder from the board, so I'll give it a good clean up and test it.

Thanks for the help people! Seems this issue is resolved...for now!  >:D

I'll post with anything I see when I inspect the board under a magnifier.  ;D

that's the same issue I got with one of your boards last time. When I received it, I just cleaned it like I always do before trouble shooting and it was working perfectly.

since the pads are so close on the Nb, just try to make sure that there is no stray wire unraveling and then touching another pad next to it, short to little exposed wire and tin before putting on  the pads.

NBs are the only board I mess up on lol

I can do an on board bar graph, but I sweat doing NBs sometime, just requires looking at it very closely.
Glad you got it covered
